University of Connecticut Resources for a Respectful Workplace

Attention: UConn Employees

With the support of President Susan Herbst, the Something’s Happening Committee, an ad-hoc group of the UConn community addressing workplace climate at the University, is sponsoring its 2nd University-wide “Workplace Climate Survey”.

The survey will be sent to all UConn employees at the Storrs, Regional, and School of Law campuses in February 28, 2017.

The implementation of a campus-wide workplace climate survey is an effort to gather information from UConn employees about their work experiences and perceptions. The information from the survey will provide guidance to the Something’s Happening Committee and will be analyzed against the results from the 1st Workplace Climate Survey conducted in Fall 2012.

The survey will be emailed to each UConn employees’ university email addresses and is designed to be completely anonymous. Additionally, results will never be reported with a workgroup of fewer than 10 employees. The survey will be open for a period of three weeks. Each employee will be afforded time during the workday to complete the survey and hard copies will be made available in English and Spanish for employees who do not have access to a computer.

Completion of the survey will take only a few minutes but your input is valuable to capture the workplace climate around the University and to help the Committee find ways to create a respectful, civil, ethical, diverse and safe campus community.

Please watch closely for your opportunity to participate. If you have questions about the Something’s Happening Committee, please visit or contact the facilitators of this committee, Kathleen Holgerson or Pam Heath-Johnston.
